The four icons here are the main way to view the family - into the past,       the closest relationships,       the family list,       into the present.

  ANCESTORS
Shows the ascendants of the person through 4 generations and 1 generation of children.  Clicking this would show the ascendants of the person through 4 generations and 1 generation of children.
That is, the ascendants of the person as far as great great grandparents together with the children of the person.

This view is designed for the best fit on a computer screen. For most screen settings the whole tree will fit on the screen; occasionally, when we have all the ascendants, you may need to scroll to see the whole thing. I found it neccessary to include one generation of children to make it possible to climb down the tree in this view. For the person whose tree you are viewing, there is no icon to click and reload the same page (a rare courtesy on websites).

  IMMEDIATE FAMILY
Shows the parents, siblings and children of the person. If there are pictures or sound available these are shown in this view.  Clicking this would show the parents, siblings and children of the person.
This view would also show a picture of the person or a link to a sound clip if available.

Here we can see all the brothers and sisters of the person, together with parents and children. If any siblings do not share both same parents you will be advised of which parent is the shared parent.
Due to space limitations on other views, this is the only view where pictures are included. (There will, later, be a further gallery of pictures and sounds.)

  FAMILY LIST
Shows a family list of the person.  Clicking this would show an alphabetically ordered list of the person's family. For practical purposes the family members shown in this list are limited to: Siblings, Parents and Grand Parents up to Great (x2) Grand Parents, Children and Grand Children up to Great (x7) Grand Children, Uncles, Aunts, Nephews, Nieces and Cousins.

I had hoped to show more sideways relationships here. But, apart from the recent generations, there would not be not enough content in this to make it worth the effort. Also, it would be possible to list more generations, but I found it easy enough to go up and down using the Shows the ascendants of the person through 4 generations and 1 generation of children. and Shows the descendants of the person. This view shows all the known descendants. icons and using the Shows a family list of the person. icon at a particular person. In-law relationships are included for descendants only to help indicate surname changes.

  DESCENDANTS
Shows the descendants of the person. This view shows all the known descendants.  Clicking this would show the descendants of the person.
This view shows all the known descendants; children, grandchildren, great grandchildren etc.

This is another view optimised for presentation on screen. For several reasons, this view is limited to 7 descendant generations. Each branch of each descendant is distinct. For early members of the tree, there may be many descendants - involving a long vertical scroll, but no horizontal scrolling.
